  • The ideal n preferred age would be 16 and over. However it is not legal to ask age or date of birth on a job interview though questions such as what grade the prospective employee is in etc can be asked.

  • As per Ontario Ministry of Labour the minimum age at which a teen can work in a store is 14 yrs. How ever teens between 14 to 17 may not be employed during school hours unless they are excused from school attendance under the Education Act. See R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 308, “Supervised Alternative Learning for Excused Pupils."
