  You can, but make sure you rinse out as much salt and sand with fresh water after and then use a hair dryer to evaporate as much as the moisture you can or your skin gets really nasty.

  Yea you can, but the only problem is that it will stink for days because the main reason its waterproof is just in case you accidentally get wet. I wouldn't if I were you.
