  Most stores will honor returns from other stores of the same chain and so do Kmart but still I would suggest, you might call ahead and verify that the store you want to return it to, will actually take it.
  
  There is some variation in store inventories, from store to store, even with large chains like Kmart, WalMart, Lowe's, etc.
  
  It will be easier to return the item if you have a receipt. And you should be prepared to explain why you choose not to return it to the original store it was purchased from.

  If you usually got a receipt you can return it to any. However, it had happened to me that I tried returning something at a different store and they said we don't have this item here the code is not showing up in the computer you have to take it to the original store. Call them before you show up with the machine.
