Absolutely NOT.
WHy should i go break my neck and
freeze my hind end off for a slim-to-none chance at getting something i don't need, and a 99.9% chance at getting frustrated and pushed around by strangers who are overcome with the "Christmas Spirit".
Frankly, in 3-4 weeks, these same stores will be bending over backwards to get customers in there to buy the leftovers and overstock at discount prices. I've gotten to the point where I almost don't want to do anything at all for christmas; it's a hassle to put a tree up, it's a hassle to decorate, it's a hassle to go shopping (not to mention deadly, what with stampedes and road traffic and wintry conditions); it's a hassle to hide gifts until you can wrap them in privacy; and it's a hassle to UNDO all of it; it's just all-around not worth the stress. I'd rather just have the time off work to go to the movies with my family or boyfriend and not do a gift exchange.
My birthday is on christmas day, and i don't even care anymore because the entire month is just ridiculous. If i could get a birthday wish, it would be for everyone to actually have the holiday spirit an just be nice to each other... no sales, no blowouts, no gift exchange, none of that. It's gotten too commercial, and it's gotten out of hand. ANd stores just perpetuate this behaviour and it makes me sick.
